The Chicago Tribune reports that there is little evidence that Europeans are getting over their concerns about genetically engineered food, despite the fact that there is little corresponding concern in American about such products, and that a trade war between the European Union and the US has broken out.
The concerns about genetically modified organisms has been “fanned by years of political activism,” according to the Tribune.
While a four-year ban on new modified crops has expired, a number of European countries remain highly resistant to the notion of such crops being sold within their borders.
