Dow Jones reports that Kmart Corp. has asked the judge overseeing its bankruptcy to protect the materials collected during its probe of former management practices. Kmart has been conducted the probe simultaneously with investigations by the Us Department of Justice and Securities and exchange Commission (SEC). The materials "contain highly confidential information that needs to remain confidential to avoid hindering the investigation," according to the court papers.
