Kmart Corp. is liquidating merchandise at the 316 stores the company is closing, while at the same time launching a new marketing campaign to get people back into the stores that it is keeping open.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the liquidation is expected to take up to three months; for the moment, the discounts seem to fairly modest and in the 10 percent range.
The ad campaign uses as its slogan “Savings are here to stay,” and features coupon books for up to $150 in savings.
