A new Harris Poll reports that 67 percent of the US population, or about 140 million adults, now goes online, up four points from two years ago. Most of the increased access is from home computers, which is where 57 percent of the population goes online.
Today's online users tend to be somewhat younger, better educated, and more affluent than the total adult population, the poll says.
The average user is online seven hours a week, a number unchanged since 1999.
