Reuters reports that Mexican anti-trust regulators have suspended their probe of monopoly charges against Wal-Mart de Mexico (Walmex) and other retailers, saying there was insufficient evidence.

However, Manuel Sandoval, spokesman for the Federal Competition Commission, said, "We know that things happen but we don't have proof."

The probe was closed down on condition that the retailers agree to a code of conduct in their dealings with vendors.
