- Nash-Finch reported net fourth quarter income of $7.7 million, compared to $6.7 million in the year-ago period. Revenues fell to $868.2 million from $938.6 million.
The company also reported that adjusted third quarter earnings rose to $7.5 million, up from $6.1 million during the same period the year before. Third quarter revenues fell to $1.18 billion from $1.23 billion the year before.
- Stater Bros. announced that sales for the thirteen week second quarter ended March 30, 2003 increased 3.5 percent to $677.2 million compared to $654.2 million for the same period a year ago. Total sales for the twenty-six weeks ended March 30, 2003, increased 3.2 percent and amounted to $1.359 billion compared to $1.317 billion for the same period in the prior year. Same-store sales were up three percent for the quarter, and 2.6 percent for the year to date.
Operating profit for the second quarter of 2003 was $19.4 million compared to $19.5 million for the second quarter of 2002. Operating profit for the fiscal year to date of 2003 amounted to $36.8 million compared to $38.2 million for the like period in fiscal 2002.
The Company reported net income for the second quarter was $3.8 million compared to $4.3 million for the thirteen weeks ended March 31, 2002. Net income for the fiscal year to date periods amounted to $6.8 million in 2003 and $8.2 million in 2002.
